Celebrate the beauty of Qixi Festival (七夕), often known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, through the timeless art of traditional Chinese ink painting.
This special workshop explores the theme of the Twin Lotus (并蒂莲) — a cherished symbol in Chinese culture representing love, harmony, unity, and lifelong companionship. Inspired by the spirit of Qixi, participants will learn to paint elegant lotus flowers and lotus leaves while discovering the cultural meanings behind this beautiful tradition.
Guided by artist Su Yao, you’ll be introduced to the foundations of Chinese ink painting, including brush techniques, ink control, composition, and expressive brushwork. Through gentle guidance and mindful practice, you’ll create your own artwork while experiencing the calming rhythm of brush and ink.
More than a painting class, this is a peaceful and creative space to slow down, connect with Chinese culture, and celebrate the beauty of love through art.
🖌️ By the end of the workshop, you will create:
• Your own Twin Lotus Chinese ink painting on Xuan paper
• A deeper understanding of traditional Chinese painting techniques and symbolism
